February 2006 was when our co-founder and CEO, Carol, first stepped foot in Western China and discovered the magic of yak wool. Back then, nobody other than the Tibetan herders knew how incredibly soft and warm yak wool was, and there was nowhere that you could buy anything made from yak wool.
Today, we are the world's leading provider of responsible yak wool. And let us tell you, it’s been one heck of a ride. You can now buy everything from yak sweaters and throws to hot bottle warmers, socks and knitting yarn!
We want to take this opportunity to thank all of our incredible partners. Between us, we’re teaching consumers about responsible yak wool, boosting the economy and saving the planet, one sweater at a time. Also, a huge thank you to the Tibetan locals who work hard to keep the beautiful yaks happy, healthy and… well… combed!
But most of all, a shout out to the centre of our team- the yak itself. Without your incredibly soft, warm and durable fibres, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
